About Kelly Brown

Welcome to Kelly Brown Optometrist! I am thrilled to be taking over the esteemed optometry practice previously owned by Leon de Vos. As a dedicated family-oriented individual, I am excited to serve the wonderful community of Durban North, a place I’ve called home my entire life. Married and blessed with two daughters attending Our Lady of Fatima DCS, my family is the heart of everything I do.

Having a passion for the outdoors, my family and I love exciting adventures, from traveling and camping together to enjoying cycling and running along the scenic promenade.

My journey in the optical industry began in 2001 when I qualified as an optometrist. I attained a Bachelor of Optometry at the University of Durban Westville. Additionally, in my first year out of varsity, I completed a CAS course, the Certificate of Advanced Studies, as well as obtained a UK qualification which enriched my skillset even further.

Optometry captured my heart because I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives by providing top-notch healthcare services. At Kelly Brown Optometrist, I take immense pride in prioritizing each patient’s needs, ensuring their vision is at its best for every aspect of their lives.

As fate would have it, I started my career at this very practice, working for Leon on reception while still a student. Now, coming full circle, I’m thrilled to carry on the legacy of personalised attention and care that Leon instilled in this practice.
